Visual and Performing Arts
The Latino Cultural Center hosts a wide range of multidisciplinary events for diverse audiences. Art exhibitions rotate every few months. The Oak Farms Dairy Theater hosts theater, music, and dance performances. The courtyard is often used for vibrant cultural festivals including Dieciseis de Septiembre to Las Posadas.
Target Second Saturdays
Target Second Saturdays are fun-filled days for the whole family! Each Second Saturday is unique and may include stories in Spanish, dance, theater and performance activities, arts and crafts workshops and more! Please check the calendar for specific programs. Come for an hour, or stay the whole day!
Summer Camp 2014
Sponsored by the Big Thought Thriving Minds program, the LCC will partner with Cara Mia Theatre Co. to explore themes of the community through theater, creative writing, dance, cinematography, culinary art and visual art. Students will have the opportunity to work one-on-one with professionally trained artists to deepen their understanding of arts-based practices and inspire them to be creative in every-day life and excel academically. Open to students 11-14 years old in 5-8th grade. Summer Camp will run Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm, June 16-July 11, 2014. Final student performance will be held Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 2:00pm.
