Architecture • Latino Cultural Center

The Latino Cultural Center was designed by renowned Mexican architect, Ricardo Legorreta and his son Victor. Legorreta is known for his use of brilliant color, light and the integration of architecture, interior design and landscape. The tower, plaza, fountain, portico and the pyramid-like side of the building resemble historic Mexican architecture and pay tribute to the Latin American traditions of privacy and simplicity.

The interior rotunda mural, titled "Orientations," was designed by Celia Alvarez Munoz. The mural is composed of digitally enhanced photographic images and uses primary colors to express three themes: permanence, poetry and passion. A simple compass on the floor points towards the outdoor plaza.
