The City of Dallas recognizes the importance of public art as a means of enhancing the quality of life in the community, and also as a means of providing professional opportunities to visual artists, especially local and regional artists. The purpose of the “Percent for Art Program” is to involve the thinking and creative abilities of artists in the design of the City’s visual environment and to encourage interaction between communities and artists. Projects are generally advertised publicly through mailings, our e-news letter, newspapers and journal advertisements.
