WRR Classical 101.1 FM operates under FCC License and is the only municipally-owned commercial station in the United States dedicated to classical music. The station generates revenue through advertising and generates enough revenue annually to sustain its operations and to maintain a fund balance for capital improvements.
WRR was the first licensed broadcast station in Texas and one of the nation's five inaugural stations. Today, the 100,000 watt station's listening area spans 100 square miles.
